Privacy Policy
This page explains exactly what JokeEmpire stores, why, and how you get it deleted. It is maintained by the site owner and written in plain language on purpose.

Reading without an account
You can read every joke on this site without giving us anything. No account is required and no profile is built for anonymous readers.
Two things are stored in your own browser rather than on our servers: your language and theme choice, and your recent searches. They never leave your device and clearing your browser data removes them.
When you create an account
Creating an account stores your email address, a display name if you choose one, and the date you joined. Your password is handled by our authentication provider and is never visible to us.
Your email address is not shown publicly anywhere on the site. Other users only ever see your display name.
Jokes, likes and collections
Submitted jokes are stored together with your account so a moderator can review them and so you can see the outcome. Approved jokes become public; rejected ones stay visible only to you and the moderation team.
Likes are rate-limited per network address to stop a single visitor voting a hundred times. That check uses a shortened, non-reversible form of the address and is not used to identify or track anyone.
Joke collections are private by default. A collection only becomes readable by others if you deliberately mark it public.
Advertising and analytics
The site is ad-supported. Advertising partners may set their own cookies once you have accepted them in the cookie banner; until you accept, no advertising cookie is set. The cookie page lists what each category is used for.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not build advertising profiles ourselves.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, or have your account and everything attached to it deleted. Write to us through the contact page and we will action it.
Deleting your account removes your profile, your collections and your pending submissions. Jokes that were already approved and published may remain on the site without your name attached.
