An independent joke library built in Denmark, written in two languages, and kept free for everyone who reads it.
What this site is
JokeEmpire is a curated collection of 119+ jokes sorted into 8 categories, from dad jokes and one-liners to dark humour and Danish classics. Everything is readable without an account, without a paywall and without a pop-up asking you to subscribe before you have laughed once.
The site exists because joke sites are usually terrible: pages of duplicated text, five ads per joke, and no way to find the one you remember. The goal here is the opposite — clean pages, real categories, working search, and a permalink for every single joke so you can send one to a friend instead of a screenshot.
Where the jokes come from
There are three sources. The core library is written and curated for JokeEmpire. On top of that, the site pulls from open, freely licensed joke APIs that explicitly permit reuse. Finally, registered members can submit their own jokes, which only appear after a moderator has reviewed them.
Nothing is scraped from other joke sites. If you believe something on this site is yours and should not be here, write to us and it will be removed while we check.
How it is moderated
Every community submission goes through a queue. A moderator either approves it or rejects it with a written reason, and the author can see that decision on their own profile. Role changes are logged, so it is always clear who approved what.
The dark humour section is deliberately separated from everything else and is never mixed into the pages aimed at children.
How it is funded
JokeEmpire is ad-supported. Ads are kept out of the middle of a punchline, and no ad slot is allowed to push the content you came for below the fold. Details on the cookies advertising uses are on the cookie page.
There is no paid tier, no subscription and no data being sold.
