The three categories
Necessary storage makes the site work at all — it remembers your cookie choice and keeps you signed in. It cannot be switched off, because without it the site cannot function.
Preference storage remembers your language, theme and recent searches. Statistics controls Google Analytics, while advertising controls Google AdSense personalisation and ad storage. Both default to denied in Google Consent Mode until you make a choice.
