What we are looking for

A good submission is short, it is yours, and it lands. Word it the way you would tell it out loud, put the punchline last, and pick the category and language that actually fits — a Danish pun filed under English one-liners never finds its audience.

Dark humour has its own section and is allowed there, as long as the joke is about a subject and not an attack on a group of people. The distinction is the one a moderator applies in practice: punch at ideas and situations, not at somebody's identity.

What you may not upload

• Illegal content, including anything encouraging violence or crime.
• Harassment, threats or bullying aimed at a named person.
• Hateful content targeting ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or nationality.
• Sexually explicit material — and under no circumstances anything sexual involving minors.
• Spam, adverts, referral links and repeated submissions of the same joke.
• Personal details about other people: names combined with an address, phone number, workplace or photos.
• Copyrighted material you did not write yourself or do not have permission to use.
• Platform manipulation: fake accounts, vote fraud or attempts to bypass moderation.

How moderation works

Nothing you submit appears on the site straight away. Submissions land in a review queue where a moderator approves or rejects them, and you can follow the status of every joke you sent in from your submission page.

A rejection always comes with a reason. If the problem was formatting, a wrong category or a near-duplicate, you can edit the joke and send it in again. If the problem was the content itself, resubmitting the same joke will be rejected again, and repeated attempts cost the account.

Approved jokes stay under review after publication too. A joke that is reported and found to break these guidelines is hidden from the site, from search and from the public API.

Reporting a joke

Every joke card has a report button. Pick the reason that fits, add a line of context if it helps, and the joke goes into the moderation queue with your report attached. You do not need an account to report something.

Reports are rate-limited so one person cannot bury a joke by reporting it repeatedly, and a report never removes a joke automatically — a moderator makes the call.

Kid-safe mode

Every joke gets an age rating when it is approved. When a reader turns on kid-safe mode, only jokes marked suitable for children are shown — so be honest with the rating when you submit.
